Excerium was our Beta Arcade project in which I was the Lead Artist for. I was responsible for producing the modular kit, bringing the assets into engine, environment design, building the level, and lighting the level. The aim was to create a sci-fi facility with an emphasis on lighting. The game itself was a wave survival shooter meaning the map had to be quite expansive, so the modular kit had to be extremely efficient in order to try and make every room seem unique. Lighting was to be used as an indicator for the player to understand where they are at all times, be able to refer to rooms by their colour palette alone instead of trying to distinguish them on design alone. This was also my first time using a trim sheet workflow and considering it was very basic I am happy with the result.
